The first Sandy Ground Project playground opened on March 1 at 10 East Ocean Avenue in Sea Bright, NJ. The event featured a ground breaking ceremony in honor of the first of 26, 100 percent handicap accessible playgrounds to be built along the New Jersey, New York, Connecticut coastal communities hit by Hurricane Sandy. The Sea Bright playground was built in memory of Anne Marie Murphy. Murphy was a special education teacher whose life was taken while trying to protect a student at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Sea Bright was selected as the first playground site due to the town’s damage in the course of Hurricane Sandy

According to Daley, his office is proud to work with Lavin and support the Breezy Point project which was inspired by the violence in Newtown, Connecticut and the effort to restore the storm ravaged east coast with living memorials to all children who have been victims of violence while creating safe, fun places for children to be children.

The New Jersey State Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association along with Paul Davis and numerous businesses and individuals have funded and donated their expertise, labor, supplies, and construction efforts to help with the projects. The playgrounds will symbolize the interests of children and families who experienced the recent and devastating events.

News Release: New York Rising
Bellerose, NY – December 16, 2013 –

Paul Davis Restoration of Metro New York has been designated as an approved contractor for the “New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program”. According to
Paul Daley and Joe Rizzo, Paul Davis office owners, their firm will provide restoration, repairs, reconstruction and remodeling services for metro New York homeowners with ‘unmet needs’ and who receive assistance from the program. More than 4,000 homeowners are expected to participate in the program which offers funds to be used for rebuilding and repair costs that were not met by insurance or aid from FEMA after Superstorm Sandy and tropical storms Irene and Lee in 2011.

“We are honored to be among the statewide contractors who are formally designated to provide rebuilding services for the program and approved properties,” said Daley. “Property owners need to be aware that contractors who are not approved by the New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program will not be permitted to renovate the homes under the funding plan.”

Daley and Rizzo’s firm will work with the State of New York to designate payments to approved parties with award amounts that vary based on loss, damages and income. Homeowners have already begun to receive letters with award amounts.

“Our office is receiving referrals under the program and we look forward to assisting homeowners with continuing recovery after the devastating storms,” said Rizzo. He recommends that those who are still suffering from the storm damage should contact a professional restoration expert to provide services such as house raising, total reconstruction, mold remediation and mitigation, and assistance with recovery services and flood policies, among others.

The Paul Davis office worked extensively during Hurricane Sandy, Irene and Tropical Storm Lee to provide hundreds of property owners with building stabilization, structural clean-up, drying, microbial testing, water and mold damage restoration, and property restoration and remodeling.
